Myelination and Motor Engrams¶
In the manuals, elite execution depends on myelinated motor engrams rather than the loose idea of "muscle memory." Repetition builds neural pathways that fire faster, cleaner, and with less conscious interference.
Core idea¶
- Clean repetition strengthens the route.
- Noise and hesitation slow the route.
- Fatigue can reduce control even when technique was once stable.
Why it matters¶
The player has a small time window to read, decide, and act. Faster neural routing makes automatic execution possible before conscious thought can interfere.
