X-Factor and Torsional Load¶
The X-Factor is the separation between hip and shoulder rotation that stores elastic energy in the trunk. The manuals use it as a key explanation for heavy topspin, delayed release, and explosive rotational power.
Core idea¶
- The hips load one direction while the shoulders stay back.
- The trunk stores rotational tension.
- Release happens through timing, not brute force.
Why it matters¶
X-Factor is a major reason elite players can create pace and spin without looking like they are swinging harder. It is a timing problem as much as a strength problem.
