The big idea: "The complete grip system in 1 page"

The Pocket Card is a printable, foldable, bag-pocket reference that consolidates the entire grip system from 4 deep dives (Continental, Eastern/Semi-Western, Grip Change Map, Foundations) into a single 1-page card. The 50+ player who prints this card and carries it to every match has the system at hand, not in their head.

Key 3.5-level choices I made

  • Made the card PRINTABLE, not just readable. The card is designed for card stock, lamination, and folding. The 50+ player who prints it and carries it has the system at hand.
  • Made the card the CONSOLIDATION of 4 deep dives, not a new deep dive. The card is the QUICK REFERENCE; the deep dives are the FULL REFERENCE. Print the card, read the deep dives at home.
  • Made the 17 sections fit on 1 page. Each section is 1-3 lines, dense but readable. The bilingual version is denser; the English/Vietnamese expanded versions are larger for readability.
  • Added the "How to Use" guide — before, during, and after the match. The 50+ player knows exactly when to glance at the card (before serve, between points, at changeover).
  • Added the 3 sound cues (Bộp, Bịch, Phập) as a unique feature. The sound cues are the only audio reference on the card — useful for self-diagnosis without looking.
  • Added the 4 protected joints to remind the 50+ player of the WHY (joint protection, not just the HOW).
  • Added the 4 numbers to show the cost of fumbling (6-7.5 min/match) and the benefit of the map (20% win rate impact).
  • Phrased the longevity framing: "20+ years of tennis starts with 1 card. The 50+ player with the card plays tennis. The 50+ player without plays 'search for the grip.'"

How this connects to the existing series

Deep Dive Connection to Pocket Card
Continental Grip The 9-shot unlock, the 4 contact points, the 3-phase pressure — all on the card
Eastern/Semi-Western Grip The 1 o'clock Semi-Western, the forearm rotation, the 30% rule — all on the card
Grip Change Map The 4 point types, the 8 transitions, the 5-second reset, the 4 numbers — all on the card
Foundations & Grip The 3 master grips, the 3 sound cues, the death grip warning — all on the card
Complete Manual The Complete Manual will reference this card as the "pocket reference" for the grip system

The most important sentence from this card

"Continental is home base. Semi-Western is the forehand. 5-second reset. Baby bird → Slingshot stone → Wrist lock. At 50+, the player with this card plays 20 years. The player without fumbles 7 minutes per match."

A 50+ player with the card has the system at hand. A 50+ player without the card has the system in their head — and forgets under pressure. The card is the difference.

The master cue
