ROOT - Rooting

Where does force come from?

The Principle

No root = no chain. Force originates in the ground, travels up the legs, through the torso, out the arm.

Tripod + Arch + Screw = Root.

The Three Points

Point Location Feeling
1. Big toe mound Medial forefoot Pressure inside
2. Little toe mound Lateral forefoot Pressure outside
3. Heel center Posterior Weight back

Triangle = stable base.

The Screw

Foot Direction Cue
Right (FH) Clockwise "Screw in"
Left (FH) Counter-clockwise "Screw in"
Both Into ground "Drill the feet"

The Arch

Active arch lift = spiral line tension.

Arch State Result
Collapsed Knee caves, spiral line slack
Passive Some tension, leaks at knee
Active lift Spiral line taut, knee stable

The Load Sequence (Forehand)

Phase Back Foot Front Foot
Load Thực (screwed in) Hư (light)
Transfer Releasing Becoming Thực
Brake/Pulse Hư (heel up) Thực (pillar)

The Drill

"Screw & Lift"

  1. Barefoot, athletic stance
  2. Screw right foot clockwise, feel arch lift
  3. Hold 5 seconds, feel spiral line tighten
  4. Switch feet, 10 reps each side
  5. Add: Shadow forehand, focus on screw → lift → brake

Goal: Feel the ground → arch → oblique connection.

The Cue

"Screw the feet. Lift the arch. Be the pillar."
